Issue Position: Limited Government & Local Control

Issue Position

State government has assumed control over many local government functions. As with spending, state intrusion into local government affairs is out of control. It is not possible for people to be free when government cannot be held accountable.

*Control of local services must be returned to local governments so that elected representatives can be accountable to local voters for the types and amounts of services and the manner in which they are provided.

*California needs to restore local control of taxes and spending for local services, so that local elected officials can be accountable to voters.

*Private property rights must be respected by government at all levels.
